Wealth, Power and Acts of Kindness

Jesus had quite a lot to say about wealth and its power. Matthew chapter 6 verse 24 reads: “No one can be a slave of two masters; he will hate one and love the other; he will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” And in 1 Timothy Chapter 6 verse 10 we read; “For the love of money is a source of all kinds of evil.”---and have broken their hearts with many sorrows,” It seems strange that so much emphasis is placed on money and what it can buy. Someone wrote the words “Live Simply so all may Simply live.” And all the time we are shown ways to spend our money to make life more comfortable and enjoyable. It is also gratifying to see how so many charities are supported by the generosity of people. When we give; our eyes are opened to the world and people beyond the confines of a narrow circle. The Lord taught that “There was more blessing in giving than receiving .”Thank God for acts of kindness.
