With us in the storm
Pastor Steve Christian (Toowoomba North Church of Christ)

Forth coming storms can be quite fearful; thunder, lightning, pelting rain and hail. Our summer season brings many storms, and the results can be quite destructive. 2020 brought its own unique storm as Covid-19 left many people fearful, and rocked our sense of equilibrium.
In the gospel of Mark, we read how Jesus’ disciples also encountered a stormy experience. They were on the Sea of Galilee when a violent windstorm whipped up. Despite being experienced fishermen who knew the lake well, yet they feared for their lives. But then Jesus walked out to them, calmed the storm and saved them; ensuring they landed safely on the other side.
No one can predict with certainty what storms we may face, and how disturbing those storms may be as we move into 2021. But for some of us, we do know that we don’t face the storms alone, as we have Jesus by our side. We can move into 2021 without fear, no matter what storms we may face, because Jesus calms our fears. How will you fare in the storms of this new year?
