What Does Jesus’ Resurrection Mean For Me?

Will Curtis (Toowoomba City Church)

“Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?” 1 Cor 15:12

The Corinthians had accepted and believed the good news of Jesus death and resurrection however, some no longer believed or did not comprehend the fullness of what Jesus’ resurrection meant for all who place their faith in Jesus.

Jesus’ resurrection as Paul outlines in 1 Cor 15 is the power of God at work to defeat the curse of death, the power of God bringing us salvation and giving us a sure and firm anchor that this life has purpose and meaning as we look forward to the fulfillment of the Resurrection for all who are in Christ. Jesus’ resurrection is the first fruits of a greater promise that we too will raise from the dead with a physical glorified body when Jesus returns.

Jesus’ death and resurrection was the good and pleasing will of the father and it is the power of God to redeem you and me from a life of bondage to sin to a life of freedom in the Spirit. Jesus’ resurrection has great importance for you and me.
