John 14:1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” Jesus encouraged His disciples just before He died, continuing (v27): “My peace I give to you; not like the world gives; don’t be fearful.”

This is remarkable encouragement, knowing He would soon be murdered. Yet His concern was to provide comfort, peace.

News this week was disturbing. Tuesday May 19 the WHO reported the highest single day’s number of new COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began: 106,000.

And we learned that a deeply respected teacher and author, Ravi Zacharias, had died. A Christian worker gave 17-year-old Ravi a Bible, encouraging him to read John 14. Verse 19 touched him deeply: Jesus said, “Because I live, you will live also.” Zacharias’ response, “This may be my only hope: a new way of living. Jesus, if You are the one who gives life as it is meant to be, I want it.” He faithfully served his Lord as a teacher, evangelist, author, apologist, for the next 48 years, sharing Christ’s hope around the world.

Accept Jesus’ peace and life, amidst this world’s chaos. Share Christ, as Ravi did, who now
