Nothing shall be impossible!

Lyndall Chandler, Lead Pastor - CHURCH4350

We find in Matthew 17:4-21 the account of a man coming to Jesus whose son the disciples couldn’t help. When the disciples asked why, Jesus didn’t say these things are complicated, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

No, those are all just religious excuses! Jesus said the reason is simple, it’s because of your unbelief (Matthew 17:20). Unbelief in the believer is unacceptable. We were created to believe God.

Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, in other words, you have faith so do something with it. It’s not about accumulating faith. It’s about using the faith you have.

Then He added, you would say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Did Jesus really say, and nothing will be impossible to you? Nothing except this or that? No, nothing!

Jesus then said, this kind does not come out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). What kind? Not this kind of demon because what Jesus is addressing is unbelief. The disciples asked, Why couldn’t we do it? And Jesus said because of your unbelief.

Not so much the act of praying or the act of fasting. But what prayer and fasting should produce in our lives? They should draw us into a closer relationship with God.

If you’re not seeing fruit in your life you think ought to be there, Lord, why couldn’t I? His answer…unbelief. The solution? Get closer to Him. Everything in God is about relationship not formulas or steps or methods but comes out of personal interaction.
