God’s Grace for Today

Pastor David Chandler (Church 4350)

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” Matthew 6:34 (NLT). In the previous verses, Jesus was saying we do not need to worry about where our food, clothing or shelter is going to come from in the days to come. God, who takes care of birds and flowers will take care of us, His children. Worry is always the future.

We know God has provided for each day until now, but we worry about tomorrow. Will God provide then? The God who has provided until now will continue to provide in the days to come. We not only need to end our worry about the necessities of life, but also end our worry about what our life will be like tomorrow. What Jesus was telling us was to only be concerned with today. God gives sufficient grace to handle that day’s problems. David said in Psalm 37:25 “I once was young but now am old, yet l have never seen the righteous forsaken or His seed begging bread”.
